Midyear Board Meeting
October 3 - 4, 2003
Hickory, NC
The District Three Board met in Hickory, NC, at the Park Inn Gateway Conference Center for its midyear board meeting on October 3-4, 2003. The following business was transacted:
a Report on the audit of 2003 Conference was accepted.
a Report from the Awards Committee was accepted.
a Agreed that no area workshops would be held in the fall of 2004 but rather that we would try
to offer more workshops at the 2004 District Three Conference in the spring.
a Updated the District Three Strategic Plan.
a Appointed a committee to revise the current District Three Strategic Plan and report back
to the Board at the midyear board meeting in October 2004.
a Voted to create the Brad Hunter Memorial Scholarship, established by Altrusa International, Inc.,
District Three Foundation, in conjunction with Lake City Community College Foundation, Inc. of Lake City, FL, by the terms approved
by the District Three Board of Directors for the Endowed Scholarship Agreement and entered into by the District Three Foundation
Representative. All Altrusa contributions are to be sent to the District Three Foundation Treasurer.
a Approved the appointment of Connie Cannon of the Atlanta, GA Club as Service Program
Development Consultant.
a Appointed Carol Denton of the Orlando/Winter Park, FL Club as Chairman of the 2005 District
Three Conference.
a Appointed Maranda Gibson as Co-Chairman of the 2006 District Three Conference.
a Approved Emeritus Status for Margaret Goggin & Alma Warren of Gainesville, FL Club.
a Amended the District Three Policies to add the position of Service Program Development as a
consultant.
a Voted to accept Maria Elisabeth Mackay as the Career Exchange Individual from District Fifteen.
a Approved the budget for the 2004 Conference, setting full registration at $150.00 per person.
a Toured the Park Inn Gateway Conference Center, the site of the 2004 District Three Conference.
