 | Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.
Directions: 22 miles west of Uptown Charlotte (easily accessible from Interstates 85 and 77).
In 1989, Daniel J. Stowe, a retired textile executive from Belmont, North Carolina, reserved 450
acres of prime rolling meadows, woodlands and lakefront property and established a foundation to
develop a world-class botanical garden. A lifelong nature lover and gardening enthusiast, Dan
Stowe and his wife, Alene, envisioned a complex evolving over several decades to rival other
internationally renowned gardens. |

Directions: 7 miles from Uptown Charlotte (corner of Sharon and Fairview Roads).
SouthPark is home to one of two Nordstroms in the Carolinas, and is now home to the first Neiman
Marcus in the region and the first full-line Crate & Barrel store! BCBG MaxAzria, Billy Reid,
Hermes, Juicy Couture and Ralph Lauren are now open in the Neiman Marcus wing. The Village at
SouthPark has recently welcomed Paul Simon, Design Within Reach and Bag’n Baggage to the mix.
SouthPark offers several other exclusive stores, including Apple, Bob Ellis Shoes, Burberry,

Directions: 17 miles north of Uptown Charlotte (I 85 at Exit 49, just 2 miles from Lowes Motor Speedway)

Concord Mills features over 200 stores, including manufacturer and retail outlets, off-price retailers,
and unique specialty stores. A festive food court, a NASCAR themed fun park, a 24-screen AMC theatre

Located in Uptown Charlotte. The New South means people, places and a period of time - from
1865 to today. Levine Museum of the New South is an interactive history museum that provides the
nation with the most comprehensive interpretation of post-Civil War southern society featuring men,
women and children, black and white, rich and poor, long-time residents and newcomers who have shaped
the South since the Civil War.

Located Uptown Charlotte. ImaginOn is a new, shared combination library/theatre facility with an original approach to education, learning and the arts. It is geared to families with children.

Located in Uptown Charlotte in a renovated 1930’s era department store, it houses an impressive collection of ceramics, fiber, glass, metal and wood. Of interest to all ages.
